The Golf Putter - The Most Important Club In Your Bag

From Wikipedia a Putter is a club used in the sport of golf whose design differs from that of irons and woods. They are generally used from very close distances to the cup, generally on the putting green, though certain courses have fringes and roughs which are suitable for putting. While no club in a player's bag is absolutely indispensable or required by strict rules, the putter comes closest. It is a highly specialized tool for a specific job and virtually no golfer is without one.
As stated above the Putter’s sole purpose is to roll the ball into the cup once the golfer has finally reached the green or the putting fringe.
Not only is the Putter the most used club but it is also the loneliest club. Once it has completed its job it is returned to the golfer’s bag usually with a matched set of woods and irons.
When the golfer goes to the golf range to practice or warm up prior to playing a round of golf, the Putter is usually the only club which remains in the bag. If it does come out of the bag it is usually for a few long putts and a couple of tap in putts.
On the course the golfer often sprays the ball around with their woods and irons and after uttering a few choice words and excuses for the miss hits and continues on. On the other side of the coin, if the golfer misses a 10’ putt on the green they are ready to discard their Putter because it just will not roll the ball where the golfer wants it to.
